After painting the edges of the tin lid with Pickett Fence Crackle Paint I added some Shabby Pink Frantage before adding the embellishments. I have also added some touches of Rock Candy Crackle Paint to the top of the lid over the picture to give the effect of an old peeling oil painting.
I made the butterfly from a recycled drinks can using a Tim Holtz butterfly die after seeing the gorgeous embellishments on Debbie's blog using recycled drinks cans. I've added a Tim Holtz pen nib to the centre and rubbed some white paint over the engraving so that the word "memoirs" is more visible.
All of the flowers except the smallest rose are from The Ribbon Girl and so is the pearl string.
Around the edge of the tin I added some gorgeous Broderie Anglaise lace from The Ribbon Girl which I first threaded with pale pink seam binding, also from The Ribbon Girl. The flat back gem in the centre of the bow is from The Ribbon Girl too!
Inside you can see how I plan to use the tin as a kind of photo album. I have added the circular pages to more of the pale pink seam binding so that they concertina out of the tin to view the photos. I plan to include embellishments and quotations a little like a scrapbook page when I add the photos.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at The Ribbon Girls! Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations! Thanks for looking and enjoy your Sunday! x
