Whiff of Joy challenge - Jacqui's sketch

We have a gorgeous sketch for you this week at Whiff of Joy challenge by our super talented Jacqui. I loved using this sketch so much! I decided to use the sketch for a project I've been meaning to do for a while. I have redecorated my address book! The gorgeous papers I bought especially for the job about two months ago and just haven't found time to get round to it. I have rotated the sketch as I didn't want to cover the tulip that is on the paper in the left hand corner! I have distressed the corners of the book with brushed cordoruy distress ink and also in the middle where you hold it to open it so it looks like it has dirtied with age and use rather than my distress sponge LOL! I have also distressed the lace with antique linen distress ink as it looked a bit too clean for the rest of the project!

I have also kept the other elements of the sketch transparent so as not to hide the paper. I wanted a very vintage, Victorian kind of theme to match my decor (I love distressed furniture and shabby chic kind of things).

I used the citrus tree stamp from Whiff of Joy to fit in with the botanical theme of the paper. I love this stamp it is so versatile. I have distressed the edges with antique linen, tattered rose and brushed cordoruy distress inks and I have then given it a cracked glass effect by embossing with UTEE so it looks like a cracked enamelled decal. I have mounted it onto some gathered ribbon.

The flowers are prima hydrangeas and as it is MY address book I was very generous and added two gorgeous pins and some butterfly charms.

The text part of the sketch I have just written it straight onto the book with my calligraphy pen rather than using a sentiment tag as again I didn't want to cover the tulip up!

This is what it looked like before....hmm lovely with it's sun faded cover LOL! Sorry there are so many pictures but I wanted to show you all of it and I'm just so pleased with how it turned out! I hope you can join us this week, I love visiting you all to see your creations. Check out the rest of the DT's work, it is so stunning! x
