Simon Says Stamp challenge and Mina's candy

This is my entry for the Simon Says Stamp challenge to a gorgeous sketch by the super talented Iris (waving at you Iris) to celebrate Heidi's birthday. This is the first time I've entered the SSS challenge...but I just had to enter after Mina asked so nicely and Heidi sponsors so many challenges where would we be without her??? So HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEIDI!!!! If you haven't seen pop over to Mina's blog to see the gorgeous candy she has on offer and her fabulous take on the sketch!

Regular visitors may notice a striking similarity in this card to my last Magnolia card. Yes I have used the same papers and lace and ribbon and colours, the reason being that the last one is going to be a picture for my daughter's new room and I want three altogether so this card is now the second picture in the set!

I have coloured Tilda's cute little watering can red so that the colour scheme matches the previous card's massive red strawberry! I don't have any type of shape cutter so the ovals caused me a headache! I have cut them so that the flower and leaves are peeping out here and there as otherwise the oval would have just taken over the whole card. The edges are distressed with tattered rose distress ink as are all the papers. The gorgeous butterfly is a charm that my hubby snipped the ring off for me!

I have added some gorgeous Prima hydrangeas with some pink pearl brads. The sketch called for two leaves but these looked a little heavy for the delicate colours of the card, so I have added two tails of ribbon in place of the leaves which I think has worked really well.

The sentiment is from the new Whiff of Joy autum kit and has been stamped with tattered rose distress ink and sprayed with pearl glimmer mist.

Thanks for looking and I hope you like it! I'm afraid you will be seeing another Tilda card in the same colour scheme for my daughter's third picture! We have finished painting her room so once the horrible paint fumes have gone we can move her in and let Connor have his room back to himself bless him! x

Image: from summer kit by Magnolia coloured with copics

Papers: Basic Grey sugared collection distressed with tattered rose distress ink

Flowers: Prima

Brads, ribbon and lace: from stash

Other tools: Tim Holtz distress ink in tattered rose, pearl glimmer mist, Cherish sentiment stamp from Whiff of Joy Autumn kit

Charm: The Hobby House (have taken the ring off to use flat rather than hanging)
