I wanted to make a chocolate box for my Brother's girlfriend for her birthday so decided to use the gorgeous sketch by Gayle at The Sugar Bowl challenge which I have rotated so that the flowers didn't cover her legs LOL!
I used the sitting Gorjuss Girl and have paper pieced her dress for the optional extra. Silly me I coloured her all in and was assembling everything and thought "what was the optional extra this week?" only to find I'd spent half an hour colouring when I didn't have to LOL! I'm really pleased how it turned out as the gorgeous paper has huge flowers on it but dotted among them are patches of tiny ones which I was able to use for the dress! I also added a little stickles to the flower in her hair. I also added a gorgeous butterfly to two corners of the image which have been done with a MS punch.
The large flower is punched from the backing paper with retro punches and I've distressed the edges with brushed cordoruy distress ink and added stickles to the flower centre. I have added some olive green and gold fibres behind the flower and a couple of gorgeous cream roses. The gorgeous ribbon I got from Tesco would you believe!
The box fastens with a button and ribbon loop and this is the inside. I have glued some gorgeous bright pink tissue paper in that unfolds ready to place some chocolates inside.
Here is a close up of the inside of the lid. The sentiment is some rub on letters again from Tesco. I added some more punched flowers and another butterfly to match the two on the top of the lid. The "so sweet" is a Sugar Nellie stamp, I thought it very appropriate for a chocolate box! Now all I have to do is fill it with chocolates without eating any of them!
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! and finally a warning.................
