If you have seen Katharina and the Whiff of Joy DT's blogs this week you will know that they would love lots of baby cards to be sent to Alison Acton, the fabulous designer of party animals and Henry mouse stamps at Whiff of Joy! I just had to join in! Imagine how great it will be when Alison opens all this mail!
I decided to try colouring Lou Celebrating Monkey in baby boy colours to see if it would work as I really wanted to use one of Alison's own images and the only others I have are Henry Christmas Mouse! I was a bit worried it wouldn't look like a new baby card but I'm really pleased with the result so went ahead and used Lou!
The "So Sweet" is from Sugar Nellie, perfect for a baby card don't you think? The cord I have recycled from something, don't know what now, I recycle so many bits of cord from labels and things LOL!
Hanging from the cord is this gorgeous baby shoe charm from The Hobby House, it is so cute!
The gorgeous papers are Basic Grey Wisteria and I have torn them and distressed them with antique linen and faded jeans distress inks and done a double row of stitching. I also used my doiley lace punch along the edge of the cream paper where it overlaps the blue paper. The sentiment is from the Whiff of Joy baby sentiments set, stamped with faded jeans distress ink.The flowers have been spritzed with glimmer mist and the roses I rubbed with faded jeans ink before spritzing, they were plain white originally.
Inside I carried my sketch through and stamped "Congratulations on your bundle of joy" from the Whiff of Joy sentiments set and added a couple of flowers.
I used part of Willow with toddler in an oval on the inside also.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking. This is winging its way to Alison and her husband Jim now so hopefully she will have her beautiful little boy by the time it gets there! It is so exciting to think how many cards she will receive! x
