Woven heart Christmas card

I finally got round to making my parents' Christmas card. Of course I wanted it to be special and decided to make a woven heart card after seeing the gorgeous tutorial on StampARTic! I'm so thrilled with how it turned out and love the technique so will be using it again for definite! The papers are from the Magnolia christmas papers collection, I love these papers so thick and textured, perfect for distressing.

The gorgeous Tilda with present was a gift from a lovely friend, thank you so much! Isn't she gorgeous, love her hair. I have coloured her with distress inks, really getting to grips with these now and I love them, it is so relaxing colouring with them! I don't have many shades yet (hopefully Father Christmas will sort that out LOL) so have mixed the green myself with weathered wood and peeled paint to match the green of the loganberry paper. The gorgeous swirls and stars around the edge are from the Christmas swirls kit from Whiff of Joy, I am in love with these, they're all so pretty. I have stamped it with antique linen ink and then traced over the swirls with stickles.

The small roses from Wild Orchid Crafts have been stickled. The poinsettia is from Prima and I have clustered some yellow gems in the centre.

I have hand written the sentiment with a gold gel pen, distressed the edges with antique linen and stickles and then curved it so that it looks like a ribbon.

The flourish is from a Tim Holtz grungeboard set, covered in pickett fence crackle paint, rubbed with brushed cordoruy ink and covered in stickles. The edges of the papers have been distressed with the same ink and stickles. I have added a red bow so that the card can be hung up.

You can seen the dimension of my "ribbon" sentiment in this shot! Thanks for looking! x
