Sketch Saturday

There is such a gorgeous sketch by Maya over at Sketch Saturday this week, perfect for a Mother's Day card commission I had to do and an excuse also to use my Hanglar & Stanglar stamp again. (The card is for one of my husband's colleagues to give to his Mum and hubby said it wasn't right to have a girl on it when it was from a guy LOL!?!?) I've used some gorgeous K&Co papers and distressed and stitched the edges. I used brushed cordoruy distress ink.

I've coloured my little Hanglar "Boy with Braces" using distress inks. I stamped a Stempelglede stamp around the edges of the image with weathered wood distress ink.

Maya's sketch called for dots around part of the image so I have added some gems from my stash.
I needed to add some flowers to pretty it up for Mother's Day so added a collection of roses and blossoms from Wild Orchid crafts and a Prima Hydrangea as the corner element of the sketch - hope that's OK! The small roses were white but I coloured them with a copic to match the colour of the flowers on the papers. All the flowers have been sprayed with glimmer mist too. The border punch is MS daisy lace punch and the branches have been punched with MS branch punch.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Am just adding you to my daily round as you took my breath away. I have just used this sketch too & recently stumbled across the Hanglar stamps, not to mention colouring with Distress inks. You've given me lots to think about with just your posts since the weekend & I've entered your blog candy. Thank you so much for inspiration in many ways. - Paula
