Whiff of Joy DT - July store kit

Today's card I have to show you combines several stamps from the gorgeous Life's a Beach July store kit from Whiff of Joy. The kit is so gorgeous and combines brilliantly with the June Fun in the Sun kit. It comes ready mounted in a CD storage case too!! I am entering my card into the Colour Create Challenge who want to see warm pinks, chocolate and white.
I have used Willow sunbathing and the little yacht for the main image, both coloured with copics. I have then masked them to create the beach scene around them with distress inks. The papers are K & Co distressed with Tim Holtz distressing tool. The beach scene on my card the other day didn't look quite right to me and then I realised it was because I had coloured shadows on the image and then there were no shadows on the beach from the beach chair so this time I tried to create Willow's shadow on the sand behind her which I think looks much better! Pleased with how the idea turned out!
The strip along the bottom has been stamped with a sentiment from the kit and a couple of the small accessory stamps which I've coloured with copics too. The pearls are from the Hobby House. I added some pieces of sandpaper behind the white strip that I have cut with Tim Holtz flourish die.
I have created the fishing net from a piece of elasticated lace that was recycled from something or other by my Mum LOL she often brings me bits of ribbon and things! The cute little seahorse is also from the kit, again coloured with copics and then stickled. The floats are a couple of beads attached to the net with ball clamps from my neglected beading stash.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! To find out which stores are stocking this gorgeous kit click here! x
I'll be back later tomorrow with another preview for you - Sunday is release day and I like to show you all the images before then! x
