Simon Says Stamp Challenge DT - Make a Gift!

WARNING - If you're on a diet look away now LOL!!! It is time for another challenge at Simon Says Stamp's Challenge and this week we would like you to make a gift for someone. As always you could win a whopping $25 spending spree in the Simon Says Stamp store!! I saw one of these gift card cup cakes about a year ago on Rach's blog but didn't have the necessary supplies but stored the idea for later use!

Mmmmm looks yummy doesn't it! All that whipped cream and chocolate swirls! - and even better it has 0 calories!!

My cupcake case was made with some flowery paper from my stash. The whipped cream is a ruffled satin ribbon!

I then added a double layer of "strawberry icing" with some pink Prima flowers and some "chocolate curls" made using the wet cardstock technique. I think they're my favourite bit as they really look like chocolate in real life!

On top of that there is some "vanilla icing" in the form of some white Prima flowers and then a layer of iced flowers with chocolate drop centres (Prima flowers and brown brads of course LOL). I then sprayed the whole lot with pearl glimmer mist and added drops of glue here and there to catch some coarse glitter which looks like sugar. I snipped some of the left over brown cardstock into tiny pieces and glued them on to look like chocolate vermicilli. The glace cherry is a red wooden bead topped with a brad to fill the whole and covered in glossy accents.

The best bit to this fat free birthday cake is the centre! Pull out the glace cherry and it holds a gift card (so you still gain some pounds with this cake but the good kind LOL - sorry, couldn't resist)

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to get creative on a gift for someone this week for the Simon Says Stamp challenge! Thanks for looking! x

To make my cup cake I followed Tresa Black's brilliant tutorial here.

I saw this in Google Reader & it wasn't until I read the post wondering how you stopped the Gift Card getting all sugary that I realised it wasn't edible.
Amazing.
