Magnolia Down Under Challenge - Patchwork

Our challenge this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenge is Patchwork! Now, I have to say I struggled with this one, purely because I couldn't think of a theme for my card to go with the patchwork!! Then I remembered I had this blanket paper in my stash (the base paper) and it reminded me of a baby blanket and I was all sorted!! I've used all different sorts of papers for my patchwork and sewn them together with my sewing machine. To be honest I could have stopped there and not put an image on - it looked lovely LOL!

This is the first time I've used this gorgeous baby stamp I finally managed to get hold of when I went to the NEC! Isn't it the cutest!? I've coloured "him" with copics and added stickles to the lace trims and wings. I love it because both my children slept like this quite often as babies - bums in the air LOL, in fact my little girl was asleep like it on Tuesday! I have used zigzag stitch around the edges of the card and patchwork mat and then to join the patchwork pieces together I used a gorgeous fancy stitch on my machine, maybe it is herringbone stitch? not sure but I like it! I then cut the letters with Tim Holtz Market Street die.
I didn't want to cover up all my hard work - and believe me that patchworking took ages!! - so I simply added a white satin bow to the corner and a selection of baby charms.
Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenge! The rest of the team have made some oh so gorgeous creations to inspire you too! Thanks for looking! x
