100!!!!!!!!

Today I have a very special card to share with you!! I was asked to make a card for a lady's 100th birthday!!!! Wow!! How incredible to reach 100 years of age!! I don't know what happens in other countries when people reach this amazing milestone, but in the UK the birthday lady or gentleman receives a telegram from the Queen!!! This made making this card even more exciting for me - just think it might be sat next to the Queen's telegram on the mantlepiece!!! As I wanted it to be very special I created a criss cross card using gorgeous papers from Prima's Botanical paper pad. I am entering my card into Stampavie and More's challenge which is more than one fold. I distressed the edges and inked them with walnut stain distress ink.

I cut the 100 with Tim Holtz' Vintage Market alphabet die from cream cardstock which I have then inked with walnut stain distress ink. I also added some tiny butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch. The gorgeous frame is one of my new nesties that my lovely hubby treat me to from the show at Lincoln last weekend.

I added a selection of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and some beautiful lace from my stash along the edges of the criss cross card.

The ribbon is from my stash and the button and butterfly charm are from The Hobby House.

I stamped the lady's name with some individual letter stamps by Hampton Arts and cut them into little tiles. The cute tabs at the top were cut with another new nestie set :) - I have wanted some tabs for such a long time!!

The pull out card is decorated on the front with the most gorgeous paper from the Botanical pad - I love peacocks don't you!?

On the reverse I used another paper from the same pad and added another of the die cut frames for writing a message. I inked inside the nestie with antique linen distress ink.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Such a beautiful card Jane, it would look lovely beside the Queen's telegram! I love the soft colours. That Nestie frame looks gorgeous inked in Antique Linen, my favourite DI colour, I think. Judith xx
