Clean and Simple for Mojo Monday!

It's OK! Do not adjust your monitors LOL! Yes you are seeing a CAS card on my blog (well as clean and simple as I can manage LOL! This is an acceptance card I have made for a friend following the sketch at Mojo Monday. I'm not sure on the make of the paper as it was in my scraps drawer but I know it came from The Hobby House.

The wedding invitation my friend received was very simple and elegant and so I wanted to create a suitable acceptance in the same style. My Stempelglede Grunge Flourish Hearts stamps immediately sprung to mind as they look so gorgeous when embossed. I've embossed the same heart image twice in silver and then cut out the centre heart of one of the images to layer onto the first. I wasn't sure if embossing would work on vellum but it turns out it does - yay!! I embossed the word Acceptance onto a strip of vellum before attaching it with foam pads underneath the rhinestones. I love how you can still see the heart details under the vellum!

I added some gorgeous lace and ribbon from my stash and some rhinestones along the bottom edge and in the top corners. I had intended to add three flowers to the left of the vellum strip but the white pearlescent card I have used was so much whiter than my "white" flowers that they all looked dirty against it. Luckilly my friend loved it the way it is and I think I finally managed to do a less is more card :)!!
