Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar DT

Time for another challenge at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and this week our lovely Michele has chosen Paper Piecing as our challenge! My cute new hAnglar kit arrived in the post this week so they just had to be inked up for this challenge! I'm entering my card into the A Spoonful of Sugar challenge which is Splish Splash, Bearly Mine challenge which is Anything Goes, Do You Stack Up's challenge which is use a star, and Papertake Weekly which is Dads and Lads. The papers are by MME and I've distressed the edges.

I have masked together four images from the kit: two cute mermaids, the fish and the seaweed. They are all coloured with copics and I have added lots of stickles to the mermaid's tails and replaced some of the stamped bubbles with gemstones for a more realistic bubble look!

I added some hessian fabric to the corner to resemble a fishing net and added lots of shells from my stash and a grungboard star which I've inked with walnut stain and then rubbed with gold luster rub on. The button is from Basic Grey.

The sentiment came with the hAnglar kit and the string was recycled from a straw sunhat. The swirls I've used for seaweed were cut with a Whiff of Joy die.

On the inside I added another mermaid from the kit - this time a boy. I have given him a string to hold with "Daddy" written with die cut letters using Tim Holtz vintage market die.

Again I coloured the image with copics and added lots of stickles to his tail. I also added a few more gems for bubbles.
