Woohoo!!! It is time for another challenge at
Magnolia Down Under Challenges and this week we want to see your shabby chic creations!!! I thought this was going to be an easy challenge but ugh it was like pulling teeth making this card! Well, not so much making the card but the image! I spent what seemed like forever masking the cafe table and two chairs together and coloured them with copics. Then decided I didn't like it with two chairs and didn't think the copics looked shabby chic lol!! Then I was trying to make a full doily with Tim Holtz' on the edge doily die which took forever too! It takes me forever to paint with distress inks and I was running out of time so I was very lucky to find a half finished painting I started a couple of months ago and gave up on!! All I had to do was a bit of shading and the background thank goodness! I love how my friend
Debbie does her stunning distress ink paintings with dark backgrounds so tried to have a go at that! All the papers are a mix and match from my stash, all inked with walnut stain distress ink and sewn.
Here's a close up of gorgeous
Tilda with Peony Tails #3053. I added her eyes and eyebrows in with a black pen as I'd used a grey inkpad for stamping. I've also added white dots with a gel pen.
The butterflies were punched with Martha Stewart punches and I made a floppy shabby bow with some lace from my stash.
I have added cheesecloth behind the image and some flowers from my stash. The gorgeous daisy is from my lovely friend
Louise and I have added some dabs of white paint to it and here and there around the card for the necessary shabby chic look! The button was made from chipboard with Tim Holtz sewing room die and painted with crackle paint. The twine is from
The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at
Magnolia Down Under Challenges! Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the gorgeous shabby chic creations! Thanks for looking! x
