Magnolia-Licious and Wee Stamps Challenge DT - Use Vellum

Woohoo!!  It is time for another challenge at Magnolia-licious and Wee Stamps and we've got a fun one for you this fortnight.  We want you to use vellum on your cards/projects.  I love vellum for sentiments and in particular butterflies as it makes them seem all that more delicate just like the real thing!  I've used Tilda Longstocking from the new Once Upon a Time collection.

I decided to have another go at Zoe's amazing no lines technique and also her new tip of inking around the image with distress inks before colouring.  I must say I love it!!  I've always loved the no line technique but don't tend to use it due to the extra time it takes but I really think I will make more of an effort to do so in future after the results I had with this!  I've actually inked around the image with two colours of distress ink - antique linen and then weathered wood over the top.

In particular I love how her face and hair turned out...

...and also the lace bits on her sleeve and shoes - it looks so much more like real lace!
The rolled rose and pink blossom are from The Ribbon Girl and the hydrangeas are from Prima.  I've used the Lovely Fence doohickey behind the image.
I've used the Tilda Ticket die twice behind the image mat and a Martha Stewart punch around the edge of the image mat.  The gorgeous striped grosgrain is from The Ribbon Girl.
I've used some of the postcard stamps from the With Love Collection to create the postcard behind the image.
I stamped the smallest of the butteflies from the butterfly kit #421 onto vellum and then embossed with Tim Holtz Distress Embossing powder.
I hope you like it and I've inspired to you to join us at Magnolia-Licious and Wee Stamps Challenge!  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning cards!
Don't forget that Diana sponsors a fabulous prize from the Magnolia-Licious and Wee Stamps store for the lucky winner!  Thanks for looking! x

Wow, Jane, this is stunning! I love the DI background. It just emphasizes Tilda! Then, my heart warmed when I saw the socks! Are they the cutest or what? You did a fantastic job with the no line technique. I haven't the confidence to try it yet. Your card is wonderful! I love everything you did!
