Good evening! Hope you're having a lovely weekend - the first one of the summer holidays here so you can't get much better can you? We have another challenge for you over at Magnolia Down Under Challenges and this week Camilla has chosen a brilliant theme. We want you to use your favourite things. I've always been a bit of a hoarder in the past when it comes to my favourite things in my stash but lately I've actually been using them and am much happier with my projects as a result! I have a long list of favourite things on this card, which is another teacher thank you card. Firstly I've used one of my favourite Magnolia papers from the latest collection which I have distressed with walnut stain distress ink and pickett fence crackle paint - a favourite thing to do with my paper edges.
I have coloured cute little Shy Rose Edwin with copic and added dots to his cheeks with a white gel pen. I've added a paper rose over the actual rose which I think looks really sweet. I've inked around the image with Weathered Wood Distress Ink and used my favourite oval die cut to cut him out.
Cameos have got to be one of my absolute favourite embellishments! I love them so much and tend to only use them on my scrapbook pages as I can't bear to be parted from them lol. I've popped this one into a cameo frame from The Ribbon Girl and given both of them a coat of gesso and inked them with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The pale pink seam binding is my favourite colour of seam binding from The Ribbon Girl. The pink rose and white rose bud are from there too, the yellow roses are from my stash.
Well...you just knew I would have to use my Orchids Doohickey die right? You've probably gathered by now that it has become my all time favourite die ever lol - I think I've used it more than my others already and it is only a couple of months old! I've used pink vellum for them this time. The ivory blossom flower and yellow rose are from my stash and the berries and pink rose are from The Ribbon Girl.
The last favourite item I've used is this stunning embroidered tulle lace from The Ribbon Girl - it is so delicate - I love it! The sentiment is a Tickled Pink Stamps one.
Along the top edge of the card I have used a Martha Stewart doily which I cut into three to create a scalloped lace edge.
I hope you like my card and I've inspired you to dig out your favourite things and join us at Magnolia Down Under Challenges. Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations with their favourite things. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for looking! x
