Morning!! Before I show you today's card I have such exciting news to tell you!! I have been featured in StampARTic's very first Reader's gallery!!!! Wow!!! I am so honoured to have one of my cards shown on their magazine blog, you could have knocked me down with a feather when I saw it!!! Onto my card which is following the sketch at Create 4 Fun challenge and also the theme over at Magnolia Down Under challenge which is to use a Magnolia stamp for a purpose other than the intended one. So I have used one of the Christmas Tilda's and used it to make a child's birthday card. I've been quite adventurous I feel with this card as I wouldn't have dreamed of putting these colours together but I was inspired by the Basic Grey paper that looks like 100's and 1000's on it like a fairy cake LOL. All the papers are by Basic Grey and I have torn and stitched all the edges and sponged with tattered rose distress ink and then added stickles.
I have coloured Tilda with distress inks and stamped a Whiff of Joy christmas swirl around the image and covered the swirls in stickles.
I have had these little cupcake die cuts in my stash since the beginning of last year and thought they fitted perfectly with the papers and are also perfect for a little girl's card. I have curved them before glueing to give them a rounded cake appearance.
The flower is a Prima painterly petal with a flower brad in the centre topped with a gemstone. The "2" charm I have made with a grungeboard number. I covered it with pearlescent glue, added some gems and some chain et voila! I used my MS doiley lace punch along the edges of the pink paper.
I had this scrap of lace on my desk (can't through anything away LOL) and thought it looked perfect along the top of the 100's and 1000' paper. The gem swirl I have created myself from various sizes of gems.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! I'll see you tomorrow for the Just Magnolia challenge and don't forget if you haven't already entered my candy the link is in the side bar-------> x
